VOIP access to phone conference
VOIP is Voice Over Internet Protocol
You can connect to the Book Club phone conferences at no cost with VOIP. To access the conference, you need:
- A broadband internet connection from your computer
- Microphone and speakers on your computer
- Download and install Skype software (this will not work through some firewalls--see Skype help)
- Purchase Skype out credit (minimum €10 (Euros))
You need to have Skype out credit to make free calls to USA and UK toll free numbers. Use the credit for VOIP calls to other numbers in your home country and abroad.
When you have installed Skype and purchased Skype out credit:
- start Skype software
- click on Dial
- type in +1-866-657-9736
- use your mouse to click on the numbers to enter the phone conference ACCESS CODE.
- NOTE: This is a toll free number, so if you have a positive Skype credit there is no charge for book club calls.
