Daragh O Brien works in an internal consulting and project management role with eircom, the leading telecommunications company in Ireland, on Single View of Customer and Enterprise Information Management projects, with an increasing focus on the role of Information Quality and Process management as part of Compliance strategies. He has 8 years hands-on experience with the issues of SVC, CRM and Information Quality within small and large organizations.
He has also done pro-bono Information Management consulting work for community groups and adult education projects.
A regular and highly rated speaker at International conferences on Information Management and CRM, Daragh has also authored a number of articles on aspects of the Strategic management of Information and Information Quality in organizations.
Daragh is a Charter Member of the International Association for Information and Data Quality and is a Member of the Irish Computer Society. He is also the Convenor of the IQ Ireland Network, the leading Irish SIG for Information Quality Best Practice which is run in association with the Irish Computer Society and the IAIDQ. In this role, Daragh also works closely with the UK membership of the IAIDQ to develop standards of Professionalism in Information Quality in the British Isles.
In addition he is a Member of the Irish Computer Society and has contributed to the development of the services offered by that organization through the use of video-conferencing capabilities in the IQ Network to open up access to meetings to attendees outside the Dublin area.
Daragh has also contributed to the course curriculum for the European Masters in Business Informatics in Dublin City University (DCU) and is a regular guest lecturer on Information Quality topics to Computer Science students in DCU.
He holds a Bachelor degree in Business and Legal Studies from the National University of Ireland (Dublin).
Daragh's hobbies, outside of the IQ world, include blues guitar playing and martial arts. He lives in Wexford.
