Position description
Director of Event Services

The Director of Event Services has primary responsibility for the co-ordination, development, planning, execution and support of IAIDQ or IAIDQ co-sponsored events such as conferences, symposia or similar types of event. Events may be ‘physical’ events taking place at a specific venue or may be ‘virtual’, taking place on-line,  or may be a combination of both.

The Director of Event Services has the strategic responsibility for identifying and developing events to promote and develop the IAIDQ in current areas represented by members and in new markets. The Director of Event Services would execute this responsibility in co-operation with the Directors of Publicity, Member Services and Partnerships as appropriate.

Furthermore, the Director of Event Services Services has responsibility for one of the key sources of income for the Association and as such requires diligent focus on delivery and

It is envisaged that the Director of Event Services would work directly with Communities of Practice and members to develop ‘on the ground’ capabilities to project manage individual events while allowing the Director of Event Services to retain a ‘global’ perspective on all IAIDQ and IAIDQ co-sponsored events on behalf of the Board.

Key Skills/Experience for the Role

The Director of Event Services is a critical role for the delivery of the IAIDQ’s message, the attraction and retention of members, and the raising of funding for the IAIDQ worldwide. As such, successful delivery on the objectives of this role has a direct impact on the performance of the Association and our ability to deliver on other strategic and operational goals.

The key skills/experience required for this role (in addition to the required core skills/experience of BoD officers):

As it is envisaged that the Director of Event Services will develop and lead an Events Team, an ability to reach out to members personally and build personal connections with members is also a desirable attribute.
