Grant Robinson

Grant Robinson Grant Robinson, is a natural resource scientist working for the NSW Office of Water in the Department of Environment, Climate Change and Water in New South Wales, Australia. His experience analysing and managing natural resources information, particularly forestry and water resource data began in 1981. In 2008 he was appointed to a new role as Information Quality Coordinator for the state agency's water monitoring unit.

After years spending time on data cleansing and rework, Robinson now facilitates a continuous improvement program, that focuses on measurement, data gathering and management of water resource data, underpinned by ISO9001 certification. In other words, get our data quality right the first time! He sees good information and management practices as critical to sound decision-making for Natural Resource Management.

Following the passage of the Australian Federal Government's Water Act in 2007, Grant is enjoying exciting times as the Australian states contribute to and implement new national water information quality standards.

Grant is an Australian living in the Blue Mountains world heritage area, 80 km west of Sydney.
